The Flexit strap down inertial navigation system (Flexit Target INS), is specifically designed for continuous, on the move, three dimensional surveying. The instrument provides: North-South, East-West and TVD coordinates; azimuth; inclination; and all tool face angles of large and small diameter bore holes of any inclination. The Flexit Target INS is a modern, velocity aided; true north finding inertial navigation system and the survey speed is only limited by the capability of the wire line unit. Running speed from 50ft per minute to 500ft per minute can be achieved without any loss of accuracy. The Flexit Target INS utilises a modern Kalman filter that enables continuous calibration updates eliminating the need for periodic stops as with competing systems. Data quality control is continually monitored in real time and is displayed with a QA indicator on the surface computer. The Flexit Target INS is calibrated to perform to specification over the full temperature range (-20°C - 125°C without heat shield, or 174°C with heat shield). Exportation of the Target INS The Flexit Target INS contains highly accurate sensors currently classified as Significant Military Equipment (SME) by the United States Government, and is therefore subject to US Export Controls. Each order placed for a Flexit Target INS, requires the completion of USA Department of State form (DSP-83) which identifies the end user, country of ultimate destination and a non-transfer undertaking. Flexit will apply for an export license on behalf of the client. Further information is available from the Directorate of Defence Trade Controls (DDTC) which overseas the export of military classified components in accordance with 22 U.S.C 2778-2780 of the Arms Export Control Act (AECA) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) (22 CFR Parts 120-130). Flexit advises that any change in ownership, end-user or country of ultimate destination will require additional Export License approvals prior to transfer.
